You must first understand you are a sinner.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
You must understand that because of your sinful condition you will die a : Physcial death, when the body dies, And you are spiritually death, and will spend a eternity in Hell seperated from God.
"For the wages of sin is death...." Romans 6:23
You must understand, that because of our sin, Christ Jesus died the perfect sacrifice for our sin. Because we are uncapable of our own salvation.
"But God demonstrated his own love for us in this; While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
You must understand that while the Spirit of God convicts you of your sin, and your need for a savior, you must act before it's too late.
"I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." II Corinthians 6:2
You must confess that Christ Jesus is the Lord God, He only can save, and believe deep within your heart, that he died and rose from the dead.
"That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in yhour heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13
